I am currently a music specialist working in an SEND setting teaching pupils across a wide range of ages and abilities. My favourite part of my job is seeing a project come to life and knowing that all the hard work from my pupils was worth the effort!

I am an Assistant Headteacher at a Nottinghamshire special school and have taught at similar schools in the city and county for 25 years, across all phases. My real teaching strength and passion is working with those pupils working at developmentally early levels (PMLD), making all subjects accessible for them in a way that is developmentally appropriate and engaging, particularly great art and literature. I am a passionate advocate for our pupils and their right to high-quality, aspirational learning and meaningful life opportunities. Through my leadership role I challenge other practitioners to have these aspirations for our learners too.

I am currently the Principal of a specialist school for children and young people who have an Education Health and Care Plan. Our learners are between the ages of 3 and 18 years old and have a broad range special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). I love my job and enjoy sharing our learners’ journeys towards adulthood. I am passionate about making the world a more accessible, accepting and exciting place for people with disabilities.

Specialist Creative Arts

I am an Assistant Headteacher at an all age Special School and lead on Curriculum, Quality of Education and Assessment. I have worked with children and young people with a range of needs (ASD, CLDD, PMLD, SLD) aged 4-18, since beginning teaching in 2012. It is a privilege to work in SEND and to be part of a community of people that value, respect and celebrate every member of our society. I learn something new every day and share in the most spectacular moments of success with the incredible pupils I encounter - it is without doubt the best job in the world!

I currently teach PE, Dance and Drama part time at a wonderful special school. I love watching the children gain confidence as they play and learn new skills. I really enjoy working with my amazing enthusiastic colleagues. When not at school I love playing with my gorgeous grandson, spending time with my lovely family and teaching Tai Chi in the little village where I live.
