Secondary Physical Education

I am currently Head of Dance, teaching at a school in Suffolk. I feel really lucky to teach the subject, as I get to do what I love everyday! I have experience teaching dance from ages 3 up to 18 and love being able to see how working in a creative way helps students to find out more about themselves and become more confident.

Primary Physical Education

I worked as a qualified lead PE teacher for 8 years before becoming a PE consultant. I also taught internationally in Ghana, West Africa and in an International School in Thailand for two years. Since then, as a PE consultant for the past 6 years, I have worked with hundreds of teachers across the U.K. supporting them in the delivery of P.E. to improve their knowledge and confidence of the subject. I have supported a number of organisations with the development of content including Association for Physical Education, Oak Academy, Hampshire PE and School Sport, Energise Me and a number of coaching organisations. I have presented at a number of national conferences, including AfPE Initial Teacher training and the AfPE national conference. I am a fully qualified teacher, I have also completed an MA (ed) in Primary Education and I am currently due to finish my doctorate examining the contextual factors that impact upon primary school children’s physical activity and Physical Education.

Secondary Physical Education

I am a Partnership Development Manager for a School Sport Partnership in the Wyre Forest district of Worcestershire, working with 46 schools across all key stages. Most of my time is spent delivering CPD and bespoke support to schools, upskilling staff and improving the quality PE being delivered in schools. The best part of my job is that every day is different and I get to work with a wide range of people who value the importance of PE, school sport and physical activity.

All Phases Physical Education

I am the Senior Adviser for PE & School Sport for Cambridgeshire County Council, and a strategic adviser for the national subject association, AfPE. I am passionate about the empowerment of young people through high quality Physical Education. PE makes children’s lives better, and I come alive when standing in front of any class of children, and I can witness them learning to move, and moving to learn.

My favourite sports are trampolining and gymnastics but love to play as many sports as I can from football to rock climbing. When I’m not teaching I try to keep fit being a wanna be Crossfitter.
